1992 Upper Deck Star Rookie Willie Banks Baseball Card #14

1992 Upper Deck Star Rookie Willie Banks Baseball Card #14 Like-New Condition. Ships USP First-Class.Banks made his major league debut
in '91, and for Twins fans, this
moment came after much anticipation.
They had heard about Banks' right
arm since his selection in the first
round of the '87 draft. At St. Anthony's
High School in Jersey City, NJ, Banks
struck out 19 batters in a seven inning
game twice. In his minor league
career, Banks has been plagued with
inconsistency. He showed flashes of
brilliance with his overpowering
fastball and big league curve and
changeup, but he was a notoriously
slow starter. However, the Twins were
not about to rush such a talent In "89,
he became the youngest pitcher in
California League history to pitch a
nine inning no-hitter when he blanked
Palm Springs 1-0.
