come from Australia, Nilsson's
fame will grow once he reaches the
Major Leagues. Last season was
Nilsson's best as his combined 366
batting average between Double-A El
Paso and Triple-A Denver led all minor
league full-season players. He hit 418
with 24 doubles, five home runs and 57
RBI in 65 games at El Paso and eamned a
promotion to Denver where he was
bothered by a chronic problem with his
non-throwing shoulder. Surgery ended
his season early, but Nilsson is
expected to recover by the start of
spring training. Nitsson signed with
Milwaukee as a free agent in January
87 and has spent five seasons in the
minors. While the Brewers would like to
see him improve defensively, Nilsson
has the ability to be an all-star catcher.
